Parks & Recreation "Lenape-Native People” Program

  • Veterans Memorial Park 109 Scenic Drive Lackawaxen, PA (map)

Long before European settlement, the Lackawaxen Valley was home to the Lenape, the Indigenous people who first inhabited and shaped this land. Join the National Park Service for a thoughtful and respectful exploration of Lenape history, culture, and their deep connection to the natural world of our region. Learn how they lived, what they knew about the land, and how their legacy continues to be felt in the place names, landscapes, and stories of northeastern Pennsylvania.

This program is open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Hosted by: Lackawaxen Township Parks & Recreation

In Partnership with: National Park Service
